More rumors....There is a RUMOR going around that ENHS is closing due to COVID cases. This is a RUMOR and there is zero truth to this. ENSC schools stayed open during a difficult Dec. We will persevere and stay open until May 28!

As we near the half way point of the school year, very few in the community thought we would still be holding face to face instruction in our buildings. Honestly, I had my own doubts. We are still in school and going strong. It is because of our outstanding staff and their dedication and unselfish actions that we are able to continue educating our students and providing valuable experiences that support their dreams! THANK YOU ENSC STAFF. You are appreciated, amazing, and rock stars! We can do this! Bring on 2021....please! -Ann Linson, Superintendent

Reminder: ENHS is an IDOE Performance Qualified School and has earned certain privileges. Fri, Nov. 6 will be no school/no eLearning for high school students only. This day will be used by staff to close out tri 1 & prepare for tri 2.

Ann Linson, Superintendent

Today, Dr. McCormick and Gov. Holcomb made a historic decision to close school facilities until the end of the school year. This means we will continue eLearning three days per week to fulfill the school day requirement. We realize this is challenging for everyone; however, the safety of our students and community must be a primary concern.
I realize you must have many questions and, unfortunately, I do not have answers yet. We will continue with the current plan of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday eLearning days. Expect an update from me late Monday (April 6) that will provide you with additional details.
Thank you for your patience. We will get through this, one day at a time.
Ann Linson, Superintendent

Hello ENSC Families
East Noble School Corporation continues to monitor the health and safety of our students. Last evening Dr. Gaff, Noble County Department of Health, shared his recommendation to eliminate gatherings of 20 or more people. He has also shared with school officials that school and work are “essential” activities and not included in this restriction.
Beginning Thursday, March 12, 2020, ENSC will follow the below practices as a precaution and an attempt to limit any viral exposure to our students:
1. All evening activities hosted by ENSC will be cancelled.
2. During the school day, visitors will be restricted to the front office only and limited to emergencies only.
It is our hope that following spring break, school will be in session and return to a normal routine for everyone. I will continue to keep you posted on any new information.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support during this evolving situation.
Ann Linson, Superintendent

We have ventured into the land of HOUSES at Wayne Center Elementary! Since we are the “Home of the Tigers,” we have four different HOUSES all represented by a type of tiger listed below. A group of tigers is called an Ambush! Friday, we held a school wide sorting party for our students! Each child chose a confetti flick stick and was randomly sorted into one of the following houses: Caspian, Sumatran, Malayan, or Siberian!
We also held a staff reveal in afternoon for the students as well!
Students will remain in their house group until they leave Wayne Center as 5th graders. They were given a House T-shirt to keep! We would like them to wear their HOUSE T-shirt on HOUSE Days!
Along with our R.O.A.R motto, our new HOUSE system will help promote good character, academic success, school spirit, a team atmosphere, and a culture of excellence while continuing to build a supportive community in our school. A couple of our HOUSE expectations are that students and staff will uplift and inspire each other and will not be allowed to put down others or make disparaging remarks about other HOUSES in cruel, unkind, or demeaning ways.
Each HOUSE is composed of every child in the school — teachers, faculty, bus drivers and staff — allowing students to socialize with one another across grades and with positive adult role models beyond just the classroom setting.
Throughout the year, the HOUSES will compete against one another in a variety of competitions by accumulating HOUSE points. Individual students can also accumulate points through our PBIS Rewards system for their HOUSE based on behavior and academic success.
Our annual field day will now turn into a HOUSE Competition the last week of school. At the end of the year, and all in good fun, the HOUSE with the most points wins the House Championship — and all the honor and glory that comes with it!
We are excited to be implementing the HOUSE system at Wayne Center Elementary! Our next HOUSE day will be next Friday, January 24, 2020! Please remind your child to wear their HOUSE T-shirt that day!

It is a great feeling when the IDOE shows their support of ENSC staff & students. ENSC received a STEM Acceleration Grant to advance our k-12 work in problem/project based learning. Thank you Asst. Supt. Becca Lamon for writing the grant.

The Wayne Center Roaring Robots showed their persistence and determination today.
The Green Team struggled with a broken robot for most of the morning, but kept at it and just made the finals by qualifying 15th. They finished finals T-6th out of 32 teams!
The Blue Team did a very good job all day and qualified as the 5th seed. They also tied for 6th place in finals.
The Purple Team drove well all day and qualified in 1st. In the final they put up a good performance and finished 3rd.
But because of their strong performance in driving, interviews, and engineering notebooks, the Purple Team was awarded the Excellence Award, the award given to the top overall team at the competition!
Thank you to our PAC for running the concession stand and for Pizza Hut for providing lunch!
Thank you to all of our staff and NEHS students for helping with today’s event!
Thank you to all the teams for participating! We hope to see you all again next year!

Our first grade has been learning about life long ago in pioneer times. After finishing the book Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder, students learned that life was quite different than it is now. As a closing to this study, we celebrated by having a Pioneer Day! First grade students rotated through different stations to experience what life was like in pioneer times. They created pioneer wagons from graham crackers, marshmallows, pretzel sticks, gummy life savers, & frosting. Students made quilt squares that were joined together to make a quilt which is proudly displayed in our main lobby. The Kendallville library celebrated with us by helping students make their own butter, and of course, what good is butter without bread so we also had a bread dough making station. Finally, our first graders made a Harvest Blessing Snack and played games that the pioneers used to play. It was truly a fun hands-on experience enjoyed by all.

The Roaring Robots did an incredible job at Rome City’s VEX IQ competition.
Out of 32 teams, Roaring Robots Purple and Blue won the Teamwork Championship and have qualified for STATE at Lucas Oil Stadium!
Green Team won the Skills Award and placed 2nd in the Teamwork Championship.
The Purple Team was also awarded the Excellence Award that is given to the top overall team based on driving, interviews, and their Engineering Design Notebook!
Amazing job to all team members on an incredible day!

Nov. 19 is Red for Ed day. We are fortunate to have teacher leaders heading to Indianapolis to represent all of our teachers. At the same time, we are also fortunate to have nearly all of our teachers planning to remain in their buildings tomorrow and teach one of our most precious assets, our students! Don’t be confused by the number who are staying here to teach our students. They, too, believe strongly that districts need to be funded so that we are able to provide the support our students need and the salary our teachers deserve. They believe their profession is extremely important and they create hope, dreams, and a future for our youth which in turn impacts our economy and future. Wear red Tuesday, Nov. 19 to support our teachers and all those who work with students daily. They make a difference in the lives of our 3,600 ENSC students!

We all play a role in keeping our students safe. With this code, you can open your smartphone's camera and put the code in your camera frame. It will then give prompt you to send wc-saysomething@eastnoble.net an email. Remember, if you see something, #saysomething!

The Wayne Center National Elementary Honor Society visited Orchard Pointe this evening for volunteer hours in the community. The students had a choice in their activities with the residents. Some students painted. Others chose basketball with a beach ball. There was bean bag toss, puzzles, Connect Four, UNO, checkers and jewelry making. The smiles on the faces of the residents were heart warming.
