Local Robotics Team Wins Award at Competition
[Kendallville, IN], [March, 14th - 15th, 2020]: FIRST Robotics Team 8103 “East Noble “Cyber Knights” based at East Noble High School is proud to announce it won the Rookie Inspiration Award sponsored by National Instruments at the Bloomington district competition this past weekend. This award celebrates a rookie team’s outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering and engineers, both within their school, as well as in their community. Since January 4th, 20209 FIRST Team 8103 “Cyber Knights” has been working on a robot to compete in this year’s game, “Infinite Recharge”. Be sure to follow the East Noble “Cyber Knights” on Facebook as they will travel to Penn High School March 14th and 15th to compete in another district competition.
Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.” Under strict rules, limited resources, and an intense six-week time limit, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team.
