 Career Planning at ENHS

Some of the ways East Noble counselors assist students in career exploration:

  • Individual career/college planning sessions
  • Junior conference meeting with parents and junior students
  • All students are required to take a Career Planning course.
  • Junior and senior students can elect to take a career internship for up to two trimesters a year in the career of their choice.
  • Juniors and seniors not taking the ISTEP GQE are given an opportunity to job shadow during testing times.
  • The Career Resource Room is availble in the library for students to use before/after school and during Academic Lab.

Use the following steps to help explore careers and education options.

Step 1: Self-assessment. Who am I? Take an interest inventory and explore your values.

Step 2: Research and Goal Setting. Where am I going? Discover the wide range of work available and learn about the specifics of a particular job.

Step 3: Develop an Action Plan. How will you get a job in your chosen career? Learn about the education or training needed at these sites. Also find out about resume writing, networking, and interviewing.

You will find resources for self-assessment, reasearch and goal setting, and devleoping a plan including suggestions for high school education, post-                           secondary education and financial aid. All ENHS students use this website in their Career Exploratin class.
