  • AVILLA PTO--given to a former Avilla student pursuing post-secondary education to help provide financial assistance
  • BETA SIGMA PHI--given to a student going into the medical field or research.
  • BOOK BABES--given to a student who demonstrates scholarship, leadership, and appreciation of literature.
  • CLEMENTS MEMORIAL--given in memory of Marcia Clements to a younger person planning to major in elementary education; must be a Rome City student.
  • Cole- based on financial need and academic achievement; renewable for 4 years.
  • COMMUNITY APPRECIATION--given by the Bargain Shop of the First Christian Church.
  • DALTON MANUFACTURING--given to a child or grandchild of a Newnam employee or retiree.
  • DELTA KAPPA GAMMA--given to a young woman who plans to enter the teaching profession.
  • ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP- anyone may apply, applicants judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need, due by January 9th to the Kendallville Elks Lodge
  • EDER & NEIZER MEMORIAL--given to a student pursuing post-secondary education.
  • FLOYD DEETZ FOOD SERVICE--given to a student pursuing study in restaurant management, food service, culinary arts, etc.
  • EAST NOBLE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (2)--awarded to students committed to becoming teachers; based on class rank, citizenship, and teacher recommendations.
  • EN LEADERSHIP--given to a student who has held a leadership position  at East Noble.
  • FORDECK-KEMERLY, ELECTRIC, INC.--given to a student pursuing a degree in electrical engineering; if not candidates, other engineering disciplines will be considered.
  • HANES MEMORIAL--given in memory of Harold Hanes to a young person planning to teach mathematics.
  • FORT WAYNE CHILDRENS ZOO- given to senior pursuing an animal related career
  • I.U. ALUMNI CLUB--given to a Noble County student planning to attend I.U.
  • KENDALLVILLE ELKS ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP--given to a student who is excellent both in athletics and academics.
  • KEY CLUB--given to a member of East Noble's Key Club.
  • KIWANIS-MEL WIRICK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP--given to a student pursuing further education.
  • KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS--applicant must be a member of one of the local Catholic churches
  • ARTHUR MAPES--given to a student pursuing a career in English or journalism.
  • MASONIC FOUNDATION--given to students seeking assistance to obtain higher education.
  • NOBLE COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS--one universal application form for several scholarships; check ALL that you are interested in on the form; must include a 1st trimester transcript with the application.
  • NOBLE COUNTY EXTENSION--must be a 4-H member; or child or grand-child of an extension member; or planning to study home economics or agribusiness.
  • NORTH SIDE PTO--given to a former North Side Elementary student.
  • PARKVIEW NOBLE AUXILIARY--must be entering a health related field.
  • PATRICK BRUCE--given to an individual who is going to pursue higher education in the performing arts.
  • PSI IOTA XI--given to a student who has demonstrated significant academic achievement, service to the community, and a strong commitment to serving others.
  • PROFESSIONAL/BUSINESS WOMEN'S CLUB--given to a young woman wanting to pursue a college career; based on academic achievement, financial need, and citizenship.
  • ROME CITY LIONS CLUB--given to a Rome City resident to help him or her continue education.
  • ROME CITY P.T.I.--given to a former Rome City student.
  • SOUTH SIDE ELEMENTARY--given to a former South Side elementary student.
  • SYLVAN LAKE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION--must be a Rome City resident or former Rome City student.
  • THROP--given to a student who has been a member of the East Noble Band.
  • TRI-KAPPA--based on autobiography, recommendations, financial need, and personal interview.

MANY OTHER LOCAL AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS ARE GIVEN EACH YEAR THAT REQUIRE NO APPLICATION PROCESS.

 

Other State & National Scholarships

  •  AXA Achievement Scholarship-                                     

Awarded to students who set and reach ambitious goals, demonstrative drive, determination and ability to succeed in college and who have respect for self, family and community.

 

Ø      $10,000 scholarships to 52 students (one in each state, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico).

Ø      $15,000 additional scholarships to 10 national recipients chosen from the pool of 52 state winners, bring the total to $25,000.

Horatio Alger Association’s State Scholarship Program-

 

            Awarded to teenagers who have risen above adversity in their lives to maintain their grades, remain active in their community and participate in extracurricular activities.

 

            Criteria:

·        Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in Indiana, progressing normally toward graduation, and planning to enter college no later than the fall following graduation;

·        Have a strong commitment to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution;

·        Critical financial need ($50,000 or less gross income per family is preferred; if higher, an explanation must be provided);

·        Involvement in co-curricular and community activities;

·        Demonstrate academic achievement (minimum GPA of 2.0)

·        Be a resident if IN; and

·        Be a citizen of the U.S.

Radio/TV-Music Industry Scholarship-

 

            Awarded to a student who is planning on attending:

Broadcast Center/ St. Louis, MO;

Brown College/Minneapolis-MN;

McNally Smith College of Music/St. Pau, MN; or

Specs Howard school of Communication Arts/Southfield, MI

 

            DEADLINE:   February 1, 2009 (Broadcast, Brown, and Specs)

                                    March 1, 2009 (McNally)

McKelvey Foundation Scholarship Entrepreneurial Scholarship Award-

 

            Awarded to students who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit by owning and operating their own business in high school.

 

            Criteria:

·        Graduate high school in the Spring of 2009

·        Attend a 4 year college within the U.S.

·        Own and operate a genuine business, non-profits are eligible

·        Have at least one paid employee

·        Complete our online application
