 Coach Cummings-Varsity Head Coach

Luke Cummings begins his 2nd year leading the Knights Basketball Program.  In his first year, the Knights captured the schools first NHC conference title in 5 years.  Coach Cummings is involved in all aspects of the Knights Basketball Program.  He has worked hard in developing a plan for one of the top feeder programs in the state.  He is currently trying to implement this program at the elementary and middle school levels so that all students in the East Noble School Corporation can get an understanding of the basketball program on their way to becoming a Future Knight.

Coach Cummings playing career spanned some of the most successful years in Kokomo High School's storied basketball history, under Hall of Fame Coach Basil Mawbey.  As a senior, he started every game and helped lead the Kats to a Sectional title before losing a tough OT battle in the Regional to eventual State Runner-Up Marion Giants.  During his junior season, Coach Cummings was a member of Sectional, Regional, and Semi-State Championship teams.  The Kats were defeated in the State Finals in the Final Final Four of Indiana's tradition rich single class state tournament.  During his sophomore and freshman year, he was involved with the Kokomo JV team that helped prepare a varsity team that won sectional and regional championships each year.  In that sophomore year, the Kats began the season 19-0, were ranked #1 in the State, and as high as #15 in the Nation in the USA Today Super 25 Poll.

Coach Cummings came to East Noble after two years as the Head Coach of the Adams Central Jets.  In his time there, Coach led the Jets to an 11-37 record.  Coach Cummings led the Jets to an improbable run to the Championship Game of the ACAC tournament at the Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum.  Coach Cummings also spent a considerable amount of time building the Jet's feeder program while at Adams Central.

Coach Cummings career also includes stints as an assistant at Lewis Cass, Eastern, and Kokomo High Schools.  During the 2002-2003 season, as the Junior Varsity Coach at Lewis Cass, he helped the Kings achieve a perfect 27-0 season capped by a State Championship in Class 2A.  In the 2003-2004 the King's repeated as Mid-Indiana Conference Champions and also won the sectional championship.

Coach Cummings currently teaches U.S. History and Government at East Noble High School.  He is engaged to Kari Ellenberger and they will marry in August 2008.  In his free time Coach Cummings enjoys reading, playing golf, and spending time with his friends and family.
