And the Winner Is...

Rebecca Williams

On Wednesday, East Noble held its annual Perfect Attendance "Summer Solstice" Celebration, with the grand prize being the chance to drive a 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP all summer long for free!  More than 84 students qualified for this special prize. All qualifying students received a candy bar, and then 21 names were chosen from these students for the larger prizes.  These items included  things like gift cards, tanning sessions, iPods, and a laptop.  Rebecca Williams was the big winner, with runner-up Daniel Desper winning a laptop computer.  A special "Congrats" goes out to our 4-year perfect attendance winners:  Kavin Ley, Koleton Teders, Ian Braley, and Jessica Hochstetler.

East Noble would like to thank the following sponsors for their donations to this event:  Shepherd's Pontiac GMC, Cole YMCA, Kendallville Pizza Hut, Cobblestone Golf Course, Kendallville Chamber of Commerce, Campbell & Fetter Bank, Kessler's Sports, EN Football, the ENHS Athletic Department, and the Knight Kafe'.

East Noble's "Boomerang Backpack" Program Featured on NBC Nightly News

On Tuesday night, the Boomerang Backpack program was highlighted on national news.  The program featured several East Noble students, along with program coordinator Mark Cockroft.

During the segment, NBC News national correspondent John Yang interviewed Mr. Cockroft who spoke of his dream that no child ever go to bed hungry.  This dream is one step closer to reality since the inception of the Boomerang Backpack program.  Students from South Side and Rome City that are in need were eligible to be included in the program and  receive a backpack each weekend filled with nutritious food.

Thanks to Mr. Cockroft and the participating students for making East Noble proud and for serving your community well!
